Challenge
Conversion away from a multi-serve carton to a customer preferred, transparent plastic package.
Strategy
By using mnemonic devices associated with coffee, including thermos design and the classic coffee can, Amcor’s industrial designers gained a full understanding of the competitive landscape and coffee consumers.
Solution
A retro “coffee can” design with an oversize closure for convenience and shelf appeal. By designing two bottles that can be filled on the same lines, the client saved time and money in development and production.

Bold Bottle Design Creates Monster Momentum
Challenge
Design and develop an irreverent 20-ounce bottle for Monster’s bold entry into the soda cooler.
Strategy
Taking cue from sci-fi and horror genres, Amcor’s industrial designers wanted to capture the brand’s defiant spirit through sculpted detail. Because pressurized packaging encourages expansion and strains surface geometry, our designers worked closely with Amcor’s finite element analysis team to offer the client computer simulation prior to cutting tooling to emulate the physical stresses the bottle would encounter.
Solution
A design that cannot be ignored and empowers Monster to stake a claim as a contender on the soda shelf.

Challenge
Ignite a brand through the transparent and detailing benefits of PET.
Strategy
Using a proprietary, high-definition sculpting technique, Amcor’s designers branded elements directly onto a PET flask-shaped bottle to breathe new life to this brand. Utilizing new techniques and the talents of Amcor’s designers, the benefits of PET created new brand recognition to help this burgeoning brand gain fire at the point of purchase.
