Aldi’s 'Specially Selected' hand-cooked crisps and popcorn now come in packaging made with 35% recycled plastic, following an ISCC-certified mass-balance approach.
This achievement is a result of the integration of Amcor’s AmFiniti™ recycled content, a solution designed to enhance circularity in packaging.
As the first UK supermarket to adopt advanced recycled plastic for crisp packets, Aldi is setting a new standard in more sustainable packaging. The transition is expected to eliminate 78 tons of virgin plastic annually, reinforcing Aldi’s broader commitment to using 50% recycled content in its plastic packaging. This initiative reduces reliance on virgin materials by transforming post-consumer material into high-performance packaging, all while maintaining product integrity and safety.
