The Challenge

The manufacturer was looking to replace two older competitive VFFS machines that were becoming an issue for maintenance, upkeep, and dependability. Product loss and changeover times were a big concern. Two new Liquiflex® lines and a team of experts to support installation and provide training were the solution.

Liquiflex® Advance™ film solves pickled product challenges
The Challenge
Recently, a leading foodservice manufacturer of pickled jalapenos in Mexico approached Amcor with two significant challenges they were experiencing with their current packaging:
- Undesirable oxidation that caused their product to discolor
- High leakage rate in their distribution process
These challenges were especially critical since most of their sales are for export markets, resulting in full pallet losses of finished goods or even whole shipments on some occasions.
The Solution
Amcor's cross-functional teams, including support from Amcor Flexibles North America research and development and field technical service, collaborated to find a solution that effectively addressed the customer's concerns with their previous packaging supplier.
Amcor’s proprietary multilayer Liquiflex® Advance™ film provided superior barrier, mechanical resistance and improved sealing properties compared to the incumbent BOPA / PE+EVOH laminate. The film is extruded by Amcor Flexibles North America and backed by local service and inventory from Amcor Flexibles Latin America.
The Result
The manufacturer was impressed by the improvements achieved through Amcor’s Liquiflex® Advance™ film solution. Leakage rate was reduced below their target level, resulting in significant savings and an increase in distributor satisfaction level.
