We are excited to announce that Amcor has joined forces with Michigan State University’s (MSU) School of Packaging to create a new partnership, reflecting our shared commitment towards future talent, greater innovation and responsible packaging.
To help the School of Packaging further its impressive academic standards and to fund facility modernization upgrades that ensure students have access to state-of-the-art technology, we plan to invest over $10 million.
The partnership will also create an endowed chair of packaging sustainability professorship, who will drive forward further research into sustainability and the circular economy. This role represents our commitment – shared with MSU as leaders in our respective fields – to excellence and innovation in the future of responsible packaging.
Critically, this partnership signifies an investment in the future of the packaging industry. MSU already attracts the greatest talent in the industry and at Amcor we are committed to fostering the boldest thinkers who will make ground-breaking advancements in packaging and bring the whole industry to the next level.
This breakout investment is part of our ongoing strategy of open innovation to identify new avenues for growth as we continue to advance more responsible packaging. We are partnering with a range of organizations to create packaging that is designed to be recycled or reused and implement new technologies that make its manufacturing more efficient, which makes its employees more productive and safer.
