UniVeg Premier Amcor ProtectValve to the Fresh Produce Sector

The brand new microwave cooking system Amcor ProtectValve from Amcor Flexibles has been chosen by Belgian company UniVeg for its range of prepared vegetable lines.

Amcor ProtectValve steam venting system has been designed for ready to cook Fresh, Chilled and Processed food products that require an air-tight valve. Amcor ProtectValve packs can be placed directly into the microwave without the need for piercing or tearing of the packs. The system has been developed to save time for the consumer – for example cutting cooking time compared to the conventional hob cooking method of fresh vegetables - and with the added environmental benefit of saving energy. This cooking method, for this Fresh Produce application, also ensures more vitamins are retained in the product and not lost in the cooking water.
