Amcor Flexibles introduces CP Film, a peelable ionomer-based forming film utilizing a peelable resin blend to provide seal integrity and a clean peel to uncoated DuPont™ Tyvek®.

This multilayer, coextruded film features the excellent formability and strength properties associated with ionomer films, providing a wide forming range and draw uniformity for easy processing on a variety of thermoform-fill-seal machines and across multiple medical device applications.

Coated webs are traditionally used to improve peelability and eliminate fiber tear when opening. Packaging utilizing Amcor’s peelable CP Film addresses this concern, and offers a lower cost total package compared to forming films mated to coated webs. Mated to uncoated Tyvek® top webs, the peelable CP film also allows customers to use shorter EtO sterilization cycle times compared to coated Tyvek® top webs due to increased porosity.

“No other peelable forming film on the market has the clean peel properties of CP Film combined with the same broad forming window and deep draw capabilities of Amcor’s C Film, the industry’s premier forming film”, comments Michael Barr, Films Product Manager. “A key advantage of CP Film is that it offers consistent peel strength over a wide seal temperature window,” adds Michael.
