Winner of 2022 Amcor’s Lift-Off initiative announces new infusion of venture capital seed funding

Through Amcor’s Lift-Off initiative, innovative start-ups have an opportunity to impact the future of sustainable packaging. Amcor is proud to provide that platform, and even more proud of what those start-ups go on to achieve.

Amcor Lift-Off winner, Nfinite Nanotech, recently announced it has secured $6.5 million in seed funding from a team of investors led by the climate-focused venture capital firm Collateral Good.

Chee Hau Teoh, Nfinite’s CEO, said the seed funding will “catalyze our growth, enabling us to scale our operations, enhance our R&D capabilities and solidify our market position as pioneers in eco-friendly packaging.”

Nfinite develops smart ultra-thin nanocoating films that can be applied to paper and other materials, ultimately creating fully compostable and recyclable alternatives to conventional flexible food packaging. Nfinite’s nanocoatings are also designed to prolong the shelf life of products and reduce costs within the packaging sector through improved efficiency.

Nfinite was one of two winners announced in the inaugural round of Amcor’s Lift-Off initiative in 2022. In addition to receiving $250,000 in seed funding from Amcor, the startup had an opportunity to partner with the research and development team to advance both companies’ sustainability goals. Amcor and Nfinite are currently partnering on a joint research project to validate the recycling and composting uses of their nanocoating.
