Condiments like ketchup and mayonnaise are the unsung heroes of our daily dining experiences, adding flavor and zest to our favorite dishes. The packaging of these beloved condiments plays a vital role in ensuring their freshness, quality, and convenience for consumers.

As consumers become more discerning about their food choices and the impact of packaging on the environment, the culinary industry has been tasked with reimagining traditional condiment packaging.

In response to evolving consumer needs, upcoming packaging regulations, and the desire for more sustainable options, Amcor has developed two innovative solutions that cater to these demands.

One step towards a more sustainable future with AmPrima® Dippot Lidding

One of the primary concerns for customers in the culinary industry is the environmental impact of packaging materials. In response to this growing demand for sustainable solutions, we introduced the Dippot lidding, a mono PP recyclable and more sustainable option that aligns with the customer's desire for a recycle-ready solution.

Our AmPrima® Dippot lidding it is designed to be easily run on thermoforming machines, ensuring seamless integration into the production process. Additionally, this innovative lidding solution provides thanks to its high barrier an excellent shelf life, ranging from 6 months to 18 months, depending on the condiment type.

Furthermore, customer satisfaction is paramount, and that is why our solution focuses on ease of use for the end consumer. The lidding is designed for easy peeling, enhancing user experience and convenience. Not stopping there, our solution is puncture-resistant, ensuring the integrity of the packaging during handling and transportation.

The impact of our AmPrima® Dippot lidding goes beyond functionality. By switching to this solution, our customers achieved a 27% reduction in carbon footprint and a significant 20% saving in water consumption compared to previous PET lidding options.*

Amcor’s innovation not only prioritize sustainability and functionality but also address the growing financial and regulatory pressures from Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) fees and the proposed Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) in the European Union.
This dual benefit of better environmental credentials and operational efficiency sets our solution apart as a game-changer in wet condiments packaging.

Sachet Innovation for Enhanced Convenience: Sachets for Condiments

Our R&D team's creativity never rests. Understanding the need for convenient, leak-proof, and recyclable packaging, we introduced the mixPO sachets to cater to the specific requirements of our customers.

Our mixPO sachets are designed to be recycle-ready, aligning with the increasing focus on more sustainable packaging solutions. This solution allows a 49% reduction in carbon footprint and a significant 78% saving in water consumption compared to previous PET/PE options.**

Beyond sustainability, these sachets offer excellent heat resistance, machinability, and sealability, ensuring optimal performance on production lines and maintaining the integrity of the contents.
Leakage is also a common concern with sachet packaging, especially for wet condiments. To address this crucial issue, our MixPO sachets undergo rigorous testing to pass leakage tests successfully, guaranteeing that the products reach consumers in perfect condition.

Single Serve Sachet

In conclusion, our innovative solutions for wet condiments packaging not only meet the diverse needs of customers in the culinary industry but also pave the way for a more sustainable and efficient future.
