Advancing circularity for healthcare packaging
The ISCC+ certification is a recognized framework that enables companies like Amcor to integrate bio-based and recycled content with the proper chain of custody to verify associated sustainability claims. At our Winterbourne site, located just outside of Bristol, UK, we support healthcare companies to transition away from virgin fossil materials, helping to advance the circular economy.
For businesses looking to make their packaging more sustainable, Amcor’s ISCC+ certification offers multiple advantages. It offers access to packaging made from ISCC+ certified recycled and bio-based material*, helping to reduce the amount of fossil-based virgin plastic and lowering packaging's carbon footprint. Additionally, certified packaging responds to consumer demand for products that match their values. By partnering with a certified site, customers can enhance their sustainability credentials, as they look to drive their own circular economy initiatives with reliable, traceable solutions.
Supporting a circular economy
Some of the more sustainable packaging solutions produced at the Winterbourne site include AmSky™ recycle-ready blister packs and SureForm thermoforming films. With the ISCC+ certification, healthcare companies can now enhance their sustainability efforts through verified packaging solutions without impacting product quality.Amcor has pledged to develop all our packaging to be recyclable or reusable by 2025, and to increase our use of post-consumer recycled (PCR) content. Our recent ISCC+ certification of the Winterbourne site is another step toward this vision.
Offering healthcare providers reliable ISCC+ certified materials helps companies meet regulatory standards. A certified chain of custody for healthcare packaging provider helps strengthen their sustainability credentials and work towards a future where healthcare packaging is a fundamental part of the circular economy.
