Amcor's 2025 Sustainability Pledge

Our 2025 pledge for the planet

In January 2018, Amcor pledged to develop all our packaging to be recyclable or reusable by 2025.

We're committed to drive recycling of packaging globally

Most of our packaging is already designed to be recyclable or reusable. Remaining challenges will be overcome through Amcor's leadership and innovation, in close collaboration with others:

Developing more sustainable packaging that is recyclable or reusable

Increasing our use of recycled content

Collaborating to increase rates of recycling, worldwide

Why we made a pledge

We are inspired by ambitious goals and committed to building a great business and making a difference through packaging innovations.

What it will take

We are developing more sustainable packaging that assures safety, strength, barrier properties – among other performance qualities. To deliver on our commitments, we’re focused on three areas:

Developing recyclable materials

Most of our packaging is ready to be recycled, and we’re innovating to develop new materials so that it can all be recycled, wherever it is used.

Developing innovative formats

We are designing packaging that makes separation and recycling easy – and that includes avoiding coupling unrecyclable materials in our products.

Increasing recycling rates

With customers, suppliers, NGOs governments and others, we’re encouraging development of more infrastructure to collect, sort and recycle packaging.

Products making a difference

By incorporating post-consumer recycled content, optimizing packaging weight, and integrating bio-based materials, we advance sustainability and meet consumer expectations. Discover the difference with our more sustainable packaging solutions.
